What To Do When You Feel All Stressed Out

I’ve been working a little too hard lately.  I can usually tell because I drink more tea than water, my breathing is more shallow, I talk faster, and I eat foods I know are not good for me.  It’s a pattern that my inner wisdom throws at me to get my attention.  I usually try to ignore those things until I’m not sleeping well.  I find tossing and turning to be really annoying.  So this time around I decided to experiment with Holy Basil (Ocimum sanctum, Ocimum gratissimum).  is an herb in the adaptogen category.  Adaptogen herbs are very rejuvenating and help the body cope with stress by supporting the nervous system, the immune system, and the endocrine system, among others.

I like the magic of herbs.  I like how they connect to our deeper knowing and suddenly life starts to get easier.  I’ve learned over the years it’s best to keep a journal nearby, as the insights are always fascinating.   had been calling to me for a little while.  I actually bought the bottle almost four weeks ago.  I have a place in my kitchen where herbs tend to hang out when they want to chat.  That same place Iris flower essence was showing up when it had something to say.  Maybe I should turn that extra counter into an herbal sanctuary of sorts, a place where my herb friends can stop by when they see I need assistance.

So stay tuned because I’m sure some magic is going to happen.  I took a capsule with breakfast and one with lunch.  Let’s see how I tonight!!  I’m sure this will be an excellent example of Tip #1 ~ making me a priority.
